DIR EN GREY Announces 2012 Tour and New Single

DIR EN GREY have announced full schedule for their 2012 Tour titled "TOUR2012 IN SITU". The said tour will start this Oct 10th at SHIBUYA-AX, which will be exclusive to "a-knot", DIR EN GREY's official fan club members. The tour will end at Tokyo International Forum Hall A on Dec 25th.

Following the end of their tour on Dec 25th, the rock group will also be releasing a new single titled "RINKAKU" to be released this Winter Season. No further details about the said single have been reported.

Dir en Grey’s Kyo on the Cover of "ROCK INK!"

Lately the cover of the July issue of “ROCK INK! – ROCKER’S TATTOO NEXT ROUND-“ has been revealed and it’s no other than Dir en Grey’s Kyo who covers the magazine!

The magazine features photos taken by Shigeo Kikuchi who's working as photographer since 1986. Up until now he has taken photos for more than 300 CD- and DVD jackets of punk, rock and heavy metal bands!
On July 11th the July issue of “ROCK INK! – ROCKER’S TATTOO NEXT ROUND-“ will hit the stores including photos of Dir en Grey’s vocalist Kyo showing his range of tattoos. The photos were taken by Shigeo Kikuchi before Dir en Grey announced their hiatus due to Kyo’s voice conditions.

Other artists featured in the magazine are SLIPKNOT’s Corey Taylor, MERRY’s Nero, THE BLACK HORN’s Okamine Koushu, IRON MAIDEN’s former member Paul Day and many more.

If you’re interested in tattoos this is surely something to keep an eye on!

DIR EN GREY Documentary Live Stream

DIR EN GREY will be stream a documentary film about their legendary two-day concert at Nippon Budokan, which took place on January 9th and 10th 2010.

"DIR EN GREY UROBOROS at BUDOKAN The MOVIE" will be broadcast worldwide on a special USTREAM channel three times: at 2:00 pm JST and 10:00 pm JST on the May 27th, and 6:00 am JST on the May 28th. Access to this broadcast will cost 720 yen (roughly $9). The program will be screened with English subtitles only. Below you can find a viewing hours for other countries:

DIR EN GREY UROBOROS at BUDOKAN the MOVIE On USTREAM!

DIR EN GREY has announced that they will be streaming UROBOROS at BUDOKAN the MOVIE worldwide on USTREAM! The schedule will be announced on the 21st of May.

The movie will feature clips from the band's legendary two day show at Nippon Budokan on the 9th and 10th of 2010. The band's album UROBOROS came to life at this show, and they will share it with the rest of the world through their documentary.

Not much is released at the moment however they have uploaded a trailer, and included the staff credits as well, so make sure to check it out below!

DIR EN GREY Releasing Documentary Book

One of Japan's most well known bands DIR EN GREY has announced the release of a documentary book! It will be released on the 28th of April, and is entitled OVERSEAS DOCUMENTARY GREED. It will be available for 2,500yen, and has 224 pages in total.

The photo book will feature an close-up look into the band's activities overseas from 2005 to 2011. Each volume in the book will be expressed in the band's own words. An extended interview with the band members is included. The interview will touch on subjects from various angles, including their personal point of views. As well as a short documentary about their trips from Mexico and Houston during the overseas North and South America 2011 AGE QUOD AGIS tour.

DIR EN GREY’s Kyo Having Vocal Cord Trouble

It has been announced that DIR EN GREY vocalist Kyo has recently been diagnosed with vocal cord nodules.

According to his DIR EN GREY’s agency, Kyo needs surgery for vocal cords polyps that have worsened and will consult a doctor for further examination. Vocal nodules can be caused by voice exhaustion and are usually healed with proper rest and sometimes surgery.

DIR EN GREY was scheduled to be one of the supporting groups for English band Asking Alexandria’s “The Still Reckless” North American tour, with DIR EN GREY headlining shows in Seattle and Florida. DIRU has since pulled out of the line up.

It is unknown if DIR EN GREY will be able to participate in the tour.

DIR EN GREY Cancels North American Tour

Last month DIR EN GREY announced that they would be supporting Asking Alexandria's “The Still Reckless” tour, along with a headlining shows in Florida and the Showbox in Seattle. However, according to the Showbox's Twitter, the entire DIR EN GREY March tour has been cancelled.

The tweet read:

@DIRENGREY_web has regretfully cancelled their tour, including the 3/7 date @showboxsea. A formal statement will be released shortly.

"The Still Reckless" tour is still planned and it appears as if DIR EN GREY backed out last minute.The band's official Twitter and Facebook page have yet to make an announcement.

DIR EN GREY in Asking Alexandria’s N. American Tour

English band Asking Alexandria has announced a North American tour in which they will be supported by Japan’s very own DIR EN GREY.

The tour is titled "The Still Reckless" and will see Asking Alexandria supported by bands Trivium, I See Stars, Motionless In White, the Amity Affliction, and DIR EN GREY. The dates announced so far only represent half the tour. A second leg featuring dates in the Northeast United States and Canada will be added soon.

Additionally, DIR EN GREY just announced that they will kick off the tour with a headline show in Seattle on March 7th at the Showbox. Tickets for this show go on sale January 21st at 10am!

DIR EN GREY Finishing of Last Show of the Year in L.A.

On December 23rd 2011, DIR EN GREY finished off their live schedule for this year on Hollywood Sunset Strip at the House of Blues in Lost Angeles, California, USA. With this heated performance the band finished its North and South American tour for this year, which they had started already a month earlier. 

The first steps for DIR EN GREY in 2012 will be a short tour a long Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka, with special focus on their Osaka-Jo Hall performance scheduled for January 22nd.

The first record to be release will be their album "UROBOROS", which will be re-release in a re-mastered and expanded edition in January at the same time of their Blu-ray Disc "UROBOROS -with the proof in the name of living...- AT NIPPON BUDOKAN[Blu-ray] Extended Cut"

However, with a busy schedule already at the beginning of the year, certainly more can be expected from DIR EN GREY to come in 2012.
